ABOUT MZ Wallace

MZ Wallace was founded in 2000 by Monica Zwirner and Lucy Wallace Eustice in New York City.  Both women had spent many years in the fashion industry:  Monica working as a fashion stylist in New York and Europe (working for a wide variety of clients including Gucci, Clinique, Volvo, Porsche, and Hennes and Mauritz (H&M)); and Lucy working for many years on the editorial side of fashion (including Mirabella as an Assistant Fashion Editor, Harper's Bazaar as Senior Associate Accessories Editor, and Elle Magazine as Accessories Director), before turning to design and working with industry greats such as Manolo Blahnik and Patrick Cox.  MZ Wallace was born not long after Monica and Lucy fortuitously met at the Union Square Farmer’s Market and discovered that they were both interested in bringing their experience and ideas on design to their own accessory company.

The MZ Wallace philosophy incorporates the use the unexpected combination of materials "luxurious and utilitarian.”  Every MZ Wallace handbag is a modern classic that is stylish and sophisticated, but the overall emphasis is on function.  MZ Wallace handbags are wonderfully lightweight and have special pockets for cell phones, PDAs, and other items for which quick access is an absolute necessity.  They come in a variety of colors and fabrics, and many are water and stain resistant.  In 2009, MZ Wallace handbags were named “Best Handbag” in NY Magazine’s “Best of New York” issue. They were written up in Travel and Leisure magazine as possibly the ultimate travel bag and Wallace's Kate travel bag won the 2010 Travel and Leisure design award!
