This woven pine needle tray looks incredible when displayed on a table or coffee table. It's fun to get creative with trays this size. It is beautiful holding an arrangement of fruit and could be useful for hand towels in the bath or sauna, magazines in the study, or table service in the dining room. It also looks magnificent displayed upright on a side table, credenza or wall. It measures approximately 19 inches in diameter and 4" deep.
High in the mountains of Mexico, are pine forests that drop huge (18 inch) needles. These needles are not biodegradable and become the source of many forest fires. Artisans native to that area gather them to reduce excessive accumulation, and then they clean and weave them into beautiful, elegant basketry such as this one. Many of the pieces are trimmed by different Mexican artisans with sand cast nickel, giving them the look of polished silver that never has to be polished. Imported.
